Justine Elliot has been the Federal Member for Richmond since 2004.
She has lived at Fingal Head for 17 years. She lives there with her husband Craig and their 2 young children.
Prior to being a Federal MP, Justine was a former community representative on the Northern Rivers Area Health Service Hospital and Community Health Council, a representative for Fingal Head on the Tweed Coastal Committee. Justine has worked as a Youth Justice Convenor with the NSW Department of Juvenile Justice and was previously a Police Officer.
Justine has also been an active member of local community groups, including Community Associations, Neighbourhood Watch Groups and the RSPCA.
Justine is proud to work with the local community. She is an active, local and committed member of Parliament and proud to serve the people of Richmond.
Justine is Minister for Ageing in the Rudd Labor Government.

Area and Location Description: Richmond covers an area of approximately 2 756 sq km from the New South Wales/Queensland border in the north to Lennox Head and Skennars Head in the south. The main towns include Bangalow, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Kingscliff, Lennox Head, Mullumbimby, Murwillumbah, Nimbin, Ocean Shores, Pottsville, Suffolk Park and Tweed Heads.
Products/Industries of the Area: Tourism, commercial fishing, agriculture including dairy, beef cattle, tropical fruits, sugarcane, coffee and macadamia nuts, sugar processing, timber, light engineering, boat building and cottage industries.
